We are a busy Podiatry office located in Los Alamitos, CA, looking to hire a Medical Biller who will work under "1" doctor. We are looking for someone who will demonstrate a professional, helpful, and friendly attitude that is directed toward and focused on providing quality patient care and satisfaction.

Job Functions:

• Ensure coding is properly selected adequately for reimbursement. As well as reviewing charges posted to patient encounters to ensure accuracy prior to claims submission.
• Generate, submit, and track invoices. Generate and track patient statements - mailed out on a monthly basis.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable.
• Complete, thorough, and timely research and resolution of all aging, denied, and rejected claims.
• Electronic and paper claim submission. Including all appropriate EOBs and required or supporting documentation.
• Complete and thorough understanding of all EOBs, payer policies, and processes for proper responses to payer requests and denials, and patient inquiries.
• Thoroughly and accurately answer patient billing questions or concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Professional and HIPAA compliant interactions with patients, insurance companies, staff, outside healthcare professionals and other agencies.

Qualifications desired:

• NextGen experience a plus
• Podiatry or Orthopedic billing a plus
• Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
• Ability to work in a changing environment and handle multiple tasks, while maintaining organized and complete work
• Exhibits high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language

Working Environment:

• Office based. Non negotiable. This is not a remote position
• Work is performed in a busy office environment with frequent contact with employees, patients, and the doctor.
• Full Time: M-F 8:00 - 5:00PM
• Pay: From $23.00 per hour - dependent on experience

Experience:

• Relevant: 2 years (Required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)
• Some college
• Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coder (CPC) from AAPC preferred
